Low Profile, High-Current SMT Planar Inductors For Power Applications

May 25, 2007 - E & E Magnetic Products Limited, a leading manufacture of magnetic products, announced the new RIS1265A Series of low-profile, high current, shielded surface mount (SMT) power inductors. This new power inductor is available in an industry-standard 5050 footprint. The RIS1265A Series uses Planar (flat wire) to optimize electrical and thermal characteristics of each value within the series. (Pb)-Free, RoHS compliant versions are available. These inductors are used in AC-to-DC switched-mode power supplies, and DC-to-DC converters in distributed power architectures (DPA), point of load (POL) systems and voltage regulator modules (VRMs). Applications include high-speed servers and workstations, telecom switching networks, routers and base station equipment. They provide the features today's notebook computers, desktop computers, portables, energy storage and input-output filters demand. The RIS1265A Series offers inductance values from 0.47 to 6.8 microhenries, current rating up to 41 Amps (ADC) and saturating current up to 51 Amps. Frequency range up to 5MHz. Operating temperature is -55 degrees Celsius to 125 degrees Celsius. DCRs range from 1.0 milliohms to 13.1 milliohms. Other values are available upon request.
